For me, it was a distant sounding Indian lady who claimed that I, as a Windows user, was one of "many in my state" experiencing problems blah blah blah. Clearly it was a scam of some kind. I did what I normally do and put on the voice of a simpleton, told them that this sounded like horses**t and said not to call again and hung up.
I am SO sick of these calls.....so many every week. We have a home phone to make and receive calls that we choose, not to provide a gateway for lying crooks and random scum to try and rip us off. It's sickening.
Oh well...I'll report them to the do not call registry as we usually do and wait for the next one.
Oh I can relate to all the other comments. As a Windows user, I have been selected among others in my state to receive support for my computer, etc. He was not speaking very fluent english, so hard to understand. But from what I could tell, he was attempting to access my computer so one of his technicians could take a look and fix my problem. Didn't know I was having a problem! I took his name, number and told him I'd talk it over with my husband and call back. B/c it just did not seem right.
234 567 809? called three times in 2 days. Says he is a technician with Microsoft and that I am having computer problems and he needs to help me fix it. I hung up on him yesterday as he was trying to get me to do things with my computer but they called again today but hung up before I answered the call.
