Person stated I had a Windows computer that was infected with a virus and wanted to assist in cleaning it up. When I told him I had a number of computers and was an Engineer, he hung up.
A male with accent from India said he was with Windows 8, and tried to get me to log on to my computer so he could help me delete unwanted files because they are slowing down the computer. I told him I have virus protection and my computer is extremely fast...he didn't listen and kept being persistent. He has called twice so far, from 234-567-809. No zero on the end.
Same thing. This guy had some thick accent. Telling me I had a virus that was deteriorating all my software. That it was specific to my area code. I told him that I knew he was trying to scam me when he said that. (Not that I didn't suspect it already, I did.) But he kept right on going about a virus specific to windows. I hung up on him. I noticed on my phone log they tried to contact me a couple of days ago. And this call was from 234-567-809. I called back and verizon said the call could not be completed. I'm sure they would have loaded some kind of virus on my computer if they could have.
