Craigslist ad for a rental in Port Angeles, WA. Email address is a name, which doesn't match the persons name. He works for USAID, as a missionary in Nigeria for 5 years. He was in such a hurry to move, that he took all the paperwork..and house keys with him to Africa. He knows nobody in town that can show the house. He wants me to send him $1250 and all my personal information(rental application), and then he will send me the keys. I discovered the house is on the real estate market, and that the craigslist ad is a "cut and paste" duplicate of an ad run by a real estate company, on the internet. Now that I want to see the house, he insists that I fill out the application, and send a deposit right away. I wish there was a way to prosecute internet scammers.
I am searching for a house to rent out and found this ad that didnt leave any info except returned email and they responded with a long message included with this number saying they are going to nigeria for 6yrs. Who is this???
I just found an ad on Craigs List stating that the owner was in Nigeria for 5 years and wanting to rent his house out to us. He left this as his phone number. I found out (luckily before sending any money) that this is a scam.

SCAM
Found a post for this house on craigslist for 978 Arizona SW in Huron SD, return email responded that they were missionary s in Africa working with USAID.gov. He does not. I contacted the Realtor who legally has the property listed and confirmed that it is a scam. They did not know about it.
I hope more have a sense to reverse look-up this number.
