They try to use different phone numbers out of several cities to try to hide their identities. As a Information Technology Security major, I have to find info on guys like these.

Remember NEVER give your credit card or bank account numbers to these guys, don't even send them a check (Thy will have your account info FOREVER), I don't care how much they badger you. Find a consumer law attorney and get their advice FIRST, and call your local law enforcement, and their law enforcement agency and press harassment charges against them (Yes, you CAN do that) especially if they threaten, act as an attorney, extort, tease, say racist things, say they can arrest you (impersonating an officer is a FELONY), etc. Please commit this warning to memory... You will thank me later.

The best thing you can do is to not answer their calls. If you do not recognize the phone number, do not answer it. Talking to debit collectors is an acknowledgement of the debt. Reist the urge and do not answer if you do not recongnize the phone number of if the phone number is unknown. Anyone that really needs you will leave a message. Also know that if this collection agency does leave you a message, do not call them back. It is better to ignore them than to try to talk to them.
