Person called from this number claiming to be "Officer Wade" of the IRS and accused my 78 year old mother of filing a fraudulent tax return. She suspected it wasn't legit and called me. I called the number and they answered the phone as Internal Revenue Service. After briefly speaking with "Officer Wade" I hung up and reported them to the IRS and FTC.

"We have just received a legal document that indicates that your wife is about to be sued. This lawsuit is due to be filed in Federal Court by Friday. Call us back immediately for more information." The accent sounded Filipino or maybe Malaysian. It makes me sad that this Ohio number is home to people who engage in such vicious fearmongering in order to scam money off of people. This is about the 4th call I have received from the 234 area code.
Obvious scam. Who would get a call telling them someone else is getting sued? I would also assume no one is actually named in this call. Vague quasi-legal gibberish to get you to call back.
