These are scammers hiding behind the MagicJack using the number in conjunction with the email address
[email protected]
The call 'appears' to originate from Florida.
Whom ever is using this number, which as mentioned is likely on the end of a MagicJack, will pick out details from your personal life from various places, pretty much any place you've shared information about your life that is publicly available online. In my instance, a local classified ad reporting an item we had recently had stolen from our yard was used in a scam against us.
Next they will construct a back story based around the information they know about you in an attempt to socially engineer the conversation into getting you to give up either more information about yourself, access to financial information, or tricking you into transferring money to them. Do yourself a favour and block the number entirely on your device, service, or from your VoIP network entirely.
Report any information you manage to get from their operation to your local police service, these are far from just 'telemarketers' using this number.
