I've been getting calls from these guys for about a year now, and each time I speak to someone they hang up on me as soon as I tell them to take me off of their list. I even had a guy make racial slurs towards me. Why can't the phone company do anything about this. For a while they were calling me at least 4 times a day. I am also on a "do not call" list, why aren't these people being held accountable for breaking the law?

Same Heather same story about lowering interest rates. Pushed #1 and a gruff male voice asked twice if I wanted to lower my interest rate. I told him yes and asked him for which account (I have no CC's). He hung up. It's a scam, I'm also on the do not call list for my cell. What can we do to stop these people?

Perhaps if everyone filed a complaintmaybe something can or will be done.
I got this call at 8:03 PM CST, same bs as above, pressed one, because I knew it was a telemarketer, and that all my accounts are under a DMP, which is a long story I don't want to get into, but short version, they're all unuseable and agreements have been made with the various account issuers to pay them off. I was just curious as to how they got my number being, all my numbers are on the DNC list, both land and cell, was on hold for a lil bit, then some lady was like you called about the Credit Promotion(she sounded African-American), and before I could even finish "How did you get this number" she hung up.
