Received an email for a work from home position titled "Secretary/ Data Entry/ Accounting Clerk" for the company named Microland Inc. It stated if interested to yahoo message

Primary duties: Your Primary duties include: Preparation of Balance sheets (Mini), account balancing , invoicing recording,proper data analysis of sales records and recording pay slips into accounting database all these will be done through the use of the Accounting Software.
Secondary duties: Now, your secondary daily duties would be to report to your Supervisor, who would be attached to you on line, He/She would assign logs of duty daily and you would be required to work according to instructions, using the Microsoft Office tools and the Accounting software. Now the function of the Accounting software is to arrange, formalize and manage the data you have processed , sent to your supervisor via E-mail.

Claim Once patient information is entered, billers look to see what insurance company should be billed , then submit a claim to that company. Processing

Congratulations Ones Again
A week later i received an email containing a tracking number for a check to buy the software to complete the job. I tracked the shipment and it was shipped out of Texas on 2 day express mail but after 3 weeks i never received the package. I then was given a second tracking number again for a check being shipped from Texas on 1 day express mail, but i didn't receive that one after 2 weeks of waiting. I then emailed "Janet" stating that it makes no sense that i have not received the check. She replied:

How are you doing today and how's the family? hope they are all doing great ? it's a pleasure having to read from you and likewise your complains which was what i did all thought today on this particular issue as i had to make contact with Usps and it was made clear that there has being a little problems with the delievery which tends to just be resolved today and was confirmed to me that everything will be taken care of and will provide you with a new tracking #
I also want you to know that to all of your delays and stays towards your working for the firm will be compensated of you Okay?

While waiting for the 1st cheack i emailed her to gather more information about the company and requested a website and a number. She replied:

How are you doing today and how's the family? Hope great? I'm sorry for my late response , have being busy with my sick daughter that was admitted , I thank God she is doing better anyway ..... The Company website is www.microland.com and here is a contact # 347 670 4791
You will also receive a call from the accounting officer in charge as regard's your package delivery..... I will provide you with the new tracking number from the usps asap.

2 days later i received a check in the mail for $2,350. The envelope i received had no company logo, address, or note. Furthermore I didn't receive a free HP computer stated in her email or a W2 form to accompany the check. The check itself had the Prudential name header with no address, Bank of America: Atlanta, Dekalb County, Georgia to the right.
At the bottom on the left it has Computershare Inc. 250 Royall St. Canton, MA 02021. The check did not posses a void by date.
I figured this was a scam weeks before but went along with it to see how far he would go. The first red flag was the amount of grammar flaws. It was obvious this person does not speak English very well and cant possibly be in any corporate position and not possess written communication skills. Another red flag was the number and website she gave me to research the company more. The number she gave me has a area code of +347 which is in New York and when i called it was a Google number. What company would have a Google number with no messenger? Looking to the website of Microland, which is actually a real company I looked to contact them. I found a few offices but none in New York. I also found a office in California. I live in California but was never contacted by this location since it is clearly closer to me than New York. Another red flag was this number actually calling me stating he was Janet's assistant. If Janet's number is linked to New York why is the assistant calling from Florida?
All this to state this is a complete SCAM. I will be reporting him/ her, whatever it may be.
Don't fall for it people.
