THis number just called. The first time they called i didnt answer but the second time they called which was approximately 3 seconds after the first call when the machine said something about my credit card interest and this lady answered and said is this for our credit card interest rate and i said yes i was wondering which credit card it was for and she hung up.
Hi, I work for a local phone company and someone is spoofing this number. The number belongs to an elderly gentleman in Florida, but, he is not making the calls. Some company is spoofing his number. It is probably a scam. It is difficult for a phone company to track down all these numbers and as soon as we can track one down and shut down that number, they will just change their number.
If you received a call from anyone claiming they can lower your credit card interest rates you should do some research before giving out any information as this could be a con-artist. For those of you who have already received these calls you can contact your local phone company and block the number;if you are on the National Do Not Call registry you should go on-line to www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint. At this point no crime has occured; no one has had any money stolen or identity compromised so there is no crime to investigate. If your identity has been compromised then you should file a report with your local law enforcement agency. If the caller continues to call you after you told them not to then you can contact your local law enforcement agency to file a report.
