I'm not sure if I got the actual owner of the number or just a very determined telemarketer faking the ID. (Honestly, most likely just a telemarketer.)
I received a call from this number on our main business line and only heard what I assumed was call center noise in the background so when no one answered me by the second hello, I hung up and came straight to 800notes to confirm my suspicion. While checking this page they called back so I answered again to hear someone with a thick accent address me as sir, so I spoke over him with a "we are not interested in what you are selling, take us off your list" remark before hanging up on him. We get a lot of telemarketing calls on our customer lines that we try to keep open for customers as we start to get really busy during the holidays.
A minute or two later he called a third time claiming not to be a telemarketer, I told him that the caller ID showed the number as being used by telemarketers. He apologized and told me that he didn't actually need the service of our company but wanted the phone number for a similar service almost 150 miles away from where I am located. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving contact information of another business because of the 'caller id' flagging his number as a telemarketer and suggested he look online for the number.
Hopefuuly he was just a creative telemarketer and not someone who genuinely needed the assistance.
