When the number was disclosed to me for house cleaning purposes I looked it up and stumbled across the post from bambi. Lo and behold, a couple of messages later John said that he thought my ad said something about massage therapy, but then he realized that actually it had not, but that if I was interested in that work or knew anyone that was I should let him know. It is weird to ask someone who specifies a trade like housekeeping if they are will to do something completely unrelated like massage therapy when there are plenty of experienced, licensed massage therapists who I'm sure could use customers. Mistaking one person for a massage therapist, okay.... two? Weird. Care.com encourages people to check up on potential employers and employees. Begrudging a woman for taking safety measures before going to work in a strangers home is just craziness. The fact that the names didn't match gave me enough reason not to want to deal with this person even before I was solicited for massage therapy. I am glad to share my experience so that someone else can make an informed decision.

@J, you overreacted to Aimee's post. I have never seen that website before, so it took me a few minutes to find information on the Care.com website that seems to provide the information that Aimee needs. You could have done the same, but you did not. You chose to rant and went ballistic.
Because profiles are publicly searchable, you cannot block a single person from viewing your profile. However, you may block a member from contacting you. To block a member from contacting you, visit your Messages page where you can locate the messages between you and the other person (if you don't see it in your All Messages or if you deleted the messages, you may still locate the message thread in your Sent Messages). Once you have opened the message thread, on the right side of the window you will see the options to Report User or Block User.

What an absolute shame. I had worked for several years as a housekeeper for an absolute gentleman who uses this number. Being familiar with Care.Com I gave him this recommendation for his housekeeping needs and other needs. I know for a fact he has severe leg muscle spasms and has gone for physical therapy. His doctor also recommended massage. I have driven him to doctors appointments for day surgery when he could find no one else. I feel so badly that my recommendation has caused him to have be subjected to such harsh words from total strangers who pry the internet and are so mean and hurtful. We are all concerned about who is phoning us but unwarranted criticism to a lovely person is just not right. Peace.
Sometime ago I received a call from this number for housekeeper from Care.com and interviewed. I met this man who is an absolute gentleman, a very pleasant man and found no fault in his manner. He paid me regularly and generously. He lives in a beautiful community and has a very nice home. I would still work for him but I had too many other homes to clean in Naples to go to Bonita Springs.
