Yet another spoofed/non-existent number with an exchange that starts with "1." 240-180-3743, 240-158-6047, 240-132-4021, etc. Rather than screen this call, in this go-around, I decided to pick it up just to see what the con was. I didn't say anything (e.g., say "Hello?"), as I always do for these kinds of spam/robo/telemarketer/scam calls, just to play around and annoy the caller. So the person on the other side could only hear background noise. Within a second, I heard the spiel: "Amy," from some job services thing that I never applied for (I'm gainfully employed!), began inquiring about me and how I was doing. But that's as far as she got before I hung up.
Been getting these calls everyday at random times throughout the day, and each time it's a newly generated number with the 240 area code, but with a phone exchange that's non-existent. Phone exchanges don't start with a 1! That's reserved for making long distance calls! No amount of blocking will do much good, short of only accepting numbers on my contacts list. Because these numbers are new and non-existent, none of the phone apps notate this as anything other than a regular call.
