Received a call from the "IRS" stating I am under investigation for tax evasion. She spoke with a heavy Indian accent. I was told the local authorities were involved and I needed to answer some questions to get more information. The call was obviously being recorded. After the first question; have you ever been arrested, I said this sounds like a phishing scam and hung up. Tried calling the IRS with no luck getting a live person on the phone. Be very careful to not give out ANY identifying information , and avoid answering anything with yes or no as it is being recorded and they can use that two commit further fraud in your name.

Same exact thing just happened to me. I go to the point where they asked me if I'd every been arrested and I said I need to confirm this is not a scam. She said ok and that was the end of the call.
Same thing happened to me as Chef just now. She went through the same script and asked me if I wanted them to handle. I said NO. She asked why and I said "because I don't believe you.' She hung up saying then "we will just file it in the courts".
Received several calls from two indian accent speaking guy and girl claiming to be IRS and threatening me with tax evasion and court arrest order. "You case has been filed". Cut me some slack dude.
