I received a phone call/ voicemail this morning from A person claiming to be Mary Flynn. The call sounded official even overly overly official. It also sounded very threatening. The caller said that the purpose of the call is to collect two outstanding acquisitions, I think they mean debts, in the Circuit Court of Maryland. I was informed that my employer and my place of residence we're going to be contacted. I do not have any outstanding debt but I returned the call and hopes of clearing up a mistake or on the off chance that this call is legitimate. Of course I asked the nature of the call and what the outstanding that was for, what vendors were involved. I was unable to get an answer to that question but they kept probing me for personal information. I was given some fake legal jargon as to why they cannot disclose the vendors but that they must be paid immediately. my call was transferred to their "legal department" in which a thug sounding, grammatically challenged, young man proceeded to threaten me with going to court but would not give me the name of any vendors or the reason they believe I had outstanding debt. I told them I felt threatened and harassed and if there is something legitimate please feel free to mail it to me but not to call me anymore. I received a few more phone calls from them I was told that my [***] was being dragged into court etc. etc. obviously I believe this is a scam and they're spending the rest of their day harassing other people and eventually they'll get somebody to hand them over a few hundred dollars or something to stop the calls. if you receive a call from this number I am sorry for you but please do not give them any of your personal information and contact legitimate sources if you feel that there may be something outstanding in your credit report.
