I received a mailing from Goldwater Bank concerning my reverse mortgage. When I called the 877 number I got an answering machine. I left my number and got a call back the next day from"Owen" at the 240 phone number. He had a long spiel on reverse mortgages. I called Goldwater Bank and they nothing about this and my reverse mortgage bank also knew nothing. I think this is an elaborate scam even using the post office.
Called a few minutes ago and didn't leave a message, so I assume it's not worth answering. Since I haven't seen any negative responses to this number, I tried calling it back, but got a recording stating that the person at extension 5 is on the phone and then a tone like it was recording whatever my message was. I just hung up. I guess I'll give them one more opportunity to call and leave a message, but if they don't leave a message about why they're calling, I will block it from future attempts to call my number.
