Answered this call as it was a local number. The call had an auto message saying that file was sent to its office It appears to be a fake debt collector. When you call the number back, the answering service does not the name of company and tries to connect you to a third party. Unfortunately, I never was connected.

Answered this call. It was a recorded message saying they are processing papers and that the processor would be by in the next couple of days to serve the papers. When I called back to find out about this they would not give me any information and since it was my husband they were looking for wouldn't tell me the company the was processing the papers and then she hang up on me when I pressed for information. I think its an debt collection company trying to collect on an old debt. This telephone number is only 2 months old. We did not give it out and it is not even in our name, no idea how they got this number.
I spoke to a woman a few minutes ago and she said I owe a pay day loan from 2010. I did a pay day loan in 2005 and paid it off. She wanted me to pay her $350 or I would be served papers and I would have to go to court and it would cost me 3 times more. I told her [***] to serve me the papers. This isn't even on my credit. I'm calling the police station now.
Received a call which was a recording stating something about paperwork being filed. Press 1 for more information. Spoke to someone who told me I had an unpaid payday loan that they were trying to collect on. Paper work was being prepared and I would be served by the sheriff and process server or I could settle out of court. They had my social, previous employer and former address. I told them that my identity had been stolen a few years back and I had to file a police report. She continued to ask if I wanted to settle out of court. Unbelievable how these persistent these scammers are. The caller ID read Upper Marlboro. When you call the company back you can't catch the company name. You are immediately transferred to the Division of Processing.
