Started off with a human asking if I was there and then immediately jumped to a computer operated recording playback system. I redirected the call to my "answering machine" that goes by Lenny and both his recordings and hers played for 7 minutes.
When Lenny asked "What was your name again?", her response was "Oh, my name is Andrea Fr.., I'm with Corporations for Careder (couldn't understand), calling on behalf of the Breast Cancer Outreach Foundation".
SCAM (to get Credit Card #) from 'Breast Cancer of' (that's it - the only thing that shows- nothing following 'of') on caller ID.
Reported immediately to www.donotcall.gov (complaints section).
Report away, they have been doing this for years and nothing is ever been done to address the problem. We're all on Do Not Call registry. Do not fall for scams is your responsibility. I wouldn't be surprised if the scammers use this forum to their advantage.
I think 800 notes is a way to be helpful to others - and let them just what the modus operandi is behind these calls (esp for older people who tend to get harassed by this type of calls).
My family has found that reporting all unsolicited calls to the (NEW) 'UNWANTED CALLS SECTION' of www.donotcall.gov actually DOES help.
