keep getting phone calls from this number saying i owe over 1000 dollars from a previous apartment. the apartments never contacted me and i lived there for 6 years, and i only moved across town and i gave them a forwarding address. told the person i wanted to see something in writing and she informed that the apartments sent me a letter. i never got a letter and once i told this to the girl on the phone, she said they only have to say they mailed me a letter. they dont have to prove they sent it. i know they apartment was in good shape, clean and no damages, so i just want someone to show me proof there was something wrong with the apartment.

I got a call from these guys. They called to inform me that they jacked my credit already, before even speaking with us. They said we owed them 1600 bucks. This was for an apartment we rented and left 4 years ago. The apartments went out of business so I'm tracking down the parent company to get records. The apartment office sent us a check after moving out to square up, which the collection agency said means nothing. It seems like a scam. I'm not sure why after 4 years they would decide we owed them money and send us to collections. I probably would have paid the extortion, which I've done in the past to preserve my fico, if they hadn't already used their a-bomb and hurt my credit already.
