This is the third call from this number this year. Most know it's a scam...the IRS never notifies people by phone of any legal action, they only send certified mail. I feel for others that may not be as aware that could possibly fall for this.
Latest IRS Tax Scam. Received this phone call during the lunch hour today, October 13, 2015. VOXBONE SA is a provider SIP trunking, which is a VoIP and streaming media service, with headquarters in Belgium. The IRS only conducts business by mail, and never by telephone.
Caller ID "VOXBONE SA This is the message left on my answering machine:
" Hello, this call is officially to give final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, call our department number: 240-383-1802, I repeat 240-383-1802." Thank you
I just got a call from this number a few minutes ago. I listened a little then hung up. My sister told me that she had gotten the same call. Then I reported it to the Do Not Call Registry.
I received the same phone call, which I did not answer. The voicemail message left stated that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. I appreciate the other posts that indicate that this is a Scam. Thanks!
