Receive call from this number all hours of the day and night. Attempt to block but still coming through. What can I do to stop being harassed by these people (whom ever they are)?
Another website "Why They Called" identifies this number as Family Energy. Comments there state that these A**Holes will not stop calling when requested to do so and call all day long at all hours of the day.
The only way you can protect yourself from idiots like this is to get a call blocking device for your landline phone. I don't get near as many calls from scamming thieves on my cell phone, so I can get by withing blocking the number on my mobile phone. I purchased a Sentry call blocker about a year and a half ago, and have a total of 462 numbers that will never bother me again. The first time they call, the phone will ring and they'll have an opportunity to leave a VM message. If they don't leave a message then I know it's a scam, and the number gets blacklisted. The peace and quiet is well worth the $40 the Sentry cost. There are other call blockers out there most of which are priced at under $100. And some of the newer phone systems include call blocking technology, as well.
The government and the phone companies are never going to crack down on these scumbags...the technology the thieves use is just too advanced to stop them completely. You have to do it yourself and purchase a call blocking system if you want to protect your privacy and personal information (including bank account and credit card data), and enjoy peace and quiet.
