These scum (I'm referring to the FOP now) are approached by the MAGGOTS who make a living out of harassing us for funds. The spiel goes something like this, "Hi, I'm _____ with the Fraternal Order of Police. We are holding a __________ show at the ______ to support the widows and orphans of FOP members in your area..." The truth of the matter is that the FOP lodges sell themselves out to the MAGGOTS who run this operation. The MAGGOTS approach the FOP and ask for permission to do this. In return, the FOP receives a set fee and the MAGGOTS receive all of the rest. If the MAGGOTS sell 1,000,000,000 tickets to the event, the FOP still receives the same about as if the MAGGOTS sell only 10 tickets to the event. None of the widows and orphans of fallen officers ever receive anything. It's really too bad that the FOP chose to get in bed with these DEVILS and sell their souls to them. If you want to donate to something that will really do some good, then visit your local volunteer fire department and donate to them. They will send you a letter, not a series of harassing phone calls, once a year asking for funds.
This number shows up on my call ID as unknown name - I answered it a long time ago the caller ask for donations for the State Police. I checked with the State Police in my area, they said the number does not belong to them. They stopped calling for a while but are back again, they are crooks!
Fundraising calls no matter how shady are exempt from the Do Not Call list. They cannot even see the numbers on it since they are not allowed to register to purchase the list.
Got their call this evening. It took several seconds for the agent to come on line. Started his spiel and as soon as he started with "Fraternal Order of Police" I interrupted him and said I do not donate to scammers who keep more money for themselves than they give to the charity and to place me on their Do Not Call list and hung up while he was still speaking.
