I actually spoke with someone from this "organization". He called me back after I lost my cool and asked that they not call me anymore. You know the moment after you answer the phone where there's only a computer recording to see if an actual person picked up? That's when I started yelling and cussing before hanging up.
Hey--they woke me up, you know?
So the guy immediately calls me back, and begins to say really childish things about how I'm very angry, and he's concerned for my mental health. I actually listened to the idiot rant for a good 5 minutes, because I was still groggy from sleep, and it was so surreal to have a maniac/criminal trying to assume the position of moral superiority over the phone. Eventually the lunatic hung up, and I did not hear from them again for two weeks.
Man...I was hoping he got the message that I wasn't interested. Whatever--that five minutes of obvious insanity was more entertaining than any of the movies I've recently watched.
If you get pleasure out of stupid people's hi-jinks, do what I did. Answer, insult, and hang up. :)
Too bad it doesn't drive them away for good, though.
