Called multiple times AFTER my mother told them she would not be able to donate to them. She asked to be taken off their call list and their response was...if you make a donation, we'll stop calling you!!!!! These people need a lesson in manners!!!!
Well, I'm a bit worried about this. My elderly mother answered the call; the guy calling represented himself as being with some veteran's organization or other, trying to build houses for vets?! Well, she fell for it hook, line and sinker and gave these people her debit card information! I guess I'll have to keep an eye on her accounts now.
Contact your mom's bank and see if they can block the payment and change her card numbers to prevent further withdrawals by the scammer.
Then, have a long talk with her. Too many elderly think this is still the time frame in which most people were honest, and all phone calls were from honest people or companies.
