I didn't take the call. No message left. I called back and got a recording saying that they would remove me from their call list if I pressed #1 on my phone, so I did. Don't know what will happen. I have received 2 spanish advert text messages recently, directing me to a website. Don't know if related. Here's information from whitepages reverse lookup:

Maybe they own the number that someone else calls through, for whatever reason that person calls.
Got a call from 240.556.9966 (washington) around 10nish this moring. This is the first time that I got a call from this number on my private cell phone..but I’ve received other marketing calls before and a lot of them are from Florida!!!!
These, unsolicited calls are an annoyance and waste of resources!!! Use call blocking for this number, besides opting out from their database.
We got a call from 240-556-9966 last evening about 8p.m. We didn't answer it and the only message left was a very loud shrill noise. I don't appreciate these calls and wish that they would stop calling my number.
