This robocaller is on a crazy roll this month. The company is Portfolio Recovery, a debt-collecting company that buys written-off debt from banks, retailers, etc., for pennies on the dollar. They get their customers' phone numbers (which often are no longer even valid) and try to browbeat people they call into paying on debts that may or may not be true. Also, when Portfolio is on the case, such debts are long past being legally collectible. Over the past three years, Portfolio has used an array of about 33 different numbers in various Area Codes to harass people, but in December (so far), they have added several numbers to their repertoire.
