Caller advised that I had won a cruise on my choice of lines (such as Carnival and Princess). He continued that it was from a Chicago area travel agency. Caller would not send hard-copy information via mail or e-mail, but said that I could take the cruise anytime in the next 18 months, all travel paid, but with taxes at my expense. Taxes were $92 per person and had to be paid via credit card on the phone during this call. No hard copy, curious call origination, no memory of entering a contest, and hard-sell insistence that I act now: NO DICE!
This call is coming from India. Some how they are high jacking the ph #240-699-8910. This is a scam do not give them any of your personal information, hang up and call your phone provider to block the number if needed. They are calling cell phones so that should give you a clear sign they are not legit telemarketers.
When you call the number you will get a recording from someone with a heavy foreign accent.
Calling offering cruises--exactly as described above. These guys aren't even bothering to be tricky about their scams... so lazy an unoriginal. Everyone knows it's shite...
