Call came in from this number this morning 5/12/11. Didn't answer, but I called it back. Message I received that this number is no longer in service. So, it is a scam of some type.
We received a call from this number this morning. My wife answered - they asked for me. They started to ask for my wife then changed their mind and just hung up. I also get no longer in service.
My name is Curt Figueroa and the cell phone # (240) 784-0489 belongs to me. However, it appears that somehow somebody has hijacked/hacked (for lack of a better term) my cell phone number, or is caller i.d. "spoofing" using my cell phone number. I did not realize that this was happening until approximately two weeks ago when I started receiving "return calls" from people from various states stating that they had received a call (or several calls) from my number and wanted to know the reason for my calling them (calls which I did not make.)
Anyway, I spoke with my cellphone carrier (T-Mobile) and they said that they could change my cell phone number, but there would be a charge involved. I don't think that I should have to pay for something that is not my fault or not my doing.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience/disturbance that anyone has suffered due to receiving calls from what appears to be my cell phone number, and my recommendation to anyone receiving calls from (240) 784-0489 who does not recognize that number, is to simply ignore the call. Thank you everyone for your understanding and cooperation.
