Called landline. Answering machine recorded partial recorded message about our only opportunity to lower our interest rates, press number for blah, blah blah, etc. etc. A legitimate caller will leave a message with their name, company name and valid call back number. This is never done. These callers are scam artists and criminals, violating the DNC and telling any lie they can think of to victimize, get personal information and part you from your money. Interesting their CID changed from Triple V to what ours displayed Silver Sprin MD. We know no one in MD and do business with no one in MD. We NEVER answer ANY unsolicited call. They are ignored.
A woman's recorded voice begins on voice mail "..eligibility for lowering your interest rates to as little as 6.9 percent. Your eligibility expires shortly so please consider this your final notice. Press one on your telephone now to speak to a live operator and lower your interest rate or press 9 to disregard any further notices."
1) it seems very typical of phishing/spam to have the first part of the message appear to have been cut off. 2) Therefore, no company name. 3) I note that the option to press 9 does NOT offer to stop their trying to contact. I can "disregard any further notices" on my own. 4) The option 9 obviously contradicts the claim "your final notice."
I don't always take the time to transcribe spam/phishing, but it does give one an opportunity to inspect their internal contradictions.
