I just received an em at my job from these scammers, so I called, the guy didn't even speak enough English to understand what I was say. I told them I would report them to the Better Business Bureau if they sent and em or called me at my job he hung up.
This number 240-880-7612 left a email with lots of threats, that I was going to jail and prosecuted. I will keep this email and report them to the FDCPA for harassment, threats etc.
this ph number was in an e-mail that threated court and felony charges if you did not contact them. anthony john williams at 240-880-7612. called the number and it rang once then nothing. no name on the
e-mail so not sure who they were trying to contact.
Received Email with this phone number and the name of John Owens in the email that i was to call him immediatly or i would be facing felony charges and a felony warrant issues. the warrant was attached without my name on it and it was signed by a judge already... very illegal ... this has to be another scam .. the amout i owed is over 13k

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
correct ive gotten several in the last few months.a couple with warrants so they say.and nothing has happened as of yet.
why im getting these I don't know don't owe payday loans or own checks.
wish theyd stop harassing us.
