They call themselves "the investigative division" or something like that. They do not identify themselves. Sounds like a debt collector trying to get information. Do not give anyone any information over the phone. Do not call them back. If they are calling about a debt, demand a debt validation letter mailed to you by US mail. E-mail no good.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS, CC or DEBIT CARD #s! They will toss around nonsense legal words like "arrest" "jail" "warrants" and so forth. Do not fall for it. Do not let them intimidate you.
If they are common debt scammers they are basically trying to scare you into giving them money. Don't let them do it.

Total scam. They aren't going to summons you to anything. Debt collectors cannot prosecute anyone. Only the public proscutior and police and do that. Debt collectors have no power of arrest and have no influence on the criminal justice systme. They are trying to scare you. Don't fall for it. Don't give them any money or agree to.
Report them:
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).
They continue to bother you, tell them you are going to the police to make a complaint of extortion.
This number tried calling me saying my mother had a legal matter they needed to clear up "right quick" but wouldnt give me any information over the phone. I talk to my mother daily, they haven't been trying to reach her. It sounds like a scam.
