I also received a call from them in Canada. The woman was speaking Serbian and trying to sell a long distance package to the old country (Serbia, Croatia and Macedonia). I asked her to speak English and she told me she had the wrong number and hung up on me. I had my neighbour who speaks Slovenian call her back and she refused to say how she got my number and refused to state the company she worked for and then immediately hung up on her as well. My husband speaks Serbian. We are both Canadian and have no need for such telephone plans. My question is-how the heck did they get our number here in Ontario? We visited Michigan this past summer. So does Visa sell this info? They leave a call back number but don't reveal who they are representing. No very legit.
I have been receiving these calls. It is a female with a very quiet voice. I thought it sounded Russian. It may have been middle eastern. It is very quiet. They leave messages.
My experience is the same as most of those who have reported. We have received several of these phone calls in recent weeks. I do know that the calls originate from Rochester, MI and the carrier is Teleport Communications. That's all I know.
