i received a live caller asking about how to further my education. When I demanded they tell me where they got my information they refused to tell me, and wouldn't transfer me to a manager.
These are computer generated spoofed (phoney) caller id calls. Their computer makes thousands of calls and if someone picks up the scammer talks to you but if more than one person answers at the same time you get the silence. They buy your number from a company whose computer calls thousands of numbers and when the get a response, they know they have a valid number and sell your number to any scammer willing to pay. If you have a land line, buy a call blocker. Sentry makes an excellent one for $39.95. They will never stop calling and you can't block the numbers using your phone because their computer will just generate another phoney caller id number that you haven't blocked.
I have received 3 phone calls from this number in the last 2 days. Never leaves a message and appears to be out of Farmington, MI. I'm on the Do Not Call List and don't understand how these calls keep getting through.
