I got a call from these scammers asking me to donate to the "Breast Cancer Society". They tell you they are a part of ACS (American Cancer Society) and ask you for a pledge. Being a cancer survivor, I pledged and asked them to send a follow-up letter. When the letter came, it looked so cheesy I got suspicious. They have a website (www.breastcancersociety.org) that's just as cheesy and has zip information. They called back to follow-up and I told them to pound sand.
I received two calls from this number this morning within an hour. I have received several calls from them in the past...it seems they call weekly now ever since I put my number on the National Do Not Call List. Usually they call regarding the Veteran's Association. The first time they contacted me, I agreed to donate. But when I received a letter in the mail from them with an envelope to send my donations in, I got real suspicious. So I looked into it. It is all a scam. Today when they called, however, they were calling as the Breast Cancer Society asking for donations for the cause. http://www.breastcancersociety.org/
THREE minutes after I received the last call from 1-866-378-9487, I received a call from 248-996-1902: caller ID said "Southfield MI". Thinking it was a coincidence and someone I knew, I picked up said hello a few times and didnt hear anything so waited, and then I heard the charity telemarketer click over and said hello. I hung up on her. Now that I have looked up information on both "charities" I cannot wait until they call back so that I can give them a piece of my mind.
I am thinking about calling them back...But I heard they do not pick up.
I have start to file complaints for charity fraud at: www.ftc.gov, www.bbb.org, and www.give.org Everyone please do the same so that this mess can be stopped!

NICE 2 KNOW that, I"M NOT the ONLY ONE??? I GOT a call from them, about 3-4 weeks ago....AKSED them to SEND ME some INFO. in the MAIL? They "CLAIMED" to be COLLECTING FUNDS...for "RETURNING" Navy, DISABLE Vets WHO NEED HELP! THEY SENT "NOTHING" & CALLED back, TONIGHT...I just HUNG UP!!!
AS, a 100% Disable ARMY Vet, I WANTED to HELP(as, MUCH as I could) but, I KNEW...WE HELP OUR OWN and that "Cold-CALLING for FUNDS" is NEXT to UNHEARD of!!! WE do DINNERS, have SALES, FUND Raiser & Etc.!!! THESE SOB"s should be SHOT !!! THE NEXT thing they'll be doing.....IS stealing bottles from STRAVING Babies ;o( !!!
