Just received a call from this number of 248-996-1997 and the person asked for my husband by name. Told him he was at work and he started to hangup. I tried to stop him and asked who was calling but he did hangup. I tried to call this number back and a recorded said it was a disconnect number and to check the number and call again. This is too much. There must be someone who can find out who is using this number....
Just to let anyone that reads these posting. I just checked with my phone provider and was told how to 'screen' (or block) that phone number so I will not get it again. All I did on my phone was dial *60 and when prompted I put in that 248-996-1997 number. On my system I can 'screen' up to 12 different numbers. Call you local providers and see what they tell you
Same as the rest. Keep getting calls. Says we pledged $20 to some type of military organization. Also getting calls from 248-351-6173. I can block calls so will block all area code 248. You are all corect, very annoying. Positive it is a scan.
When I do not answer they hang-up without leaving a message. I get a lot of calls and just hanging up. We are suppose to be unlisted??! We never give out our telephone # not even on our checks. The number of the State Patrol is on our checks. The whistle idea sounds good. I had forgotten about that.
