The person was calling saying they received a report from Microsoft my computer had an issue. I know Microsoft doesn't manage the errors for a computer and the only computer being use right now in home because ither ones is getting worked in is x p. Microsoft doesn't support that so it's def a scam. When asked for a supervisor they refused and when I told I was going to report the number they hung up.

This is a scam.  They will never give you the correct name of the company but they are all located somewhere in the eastern world.  They offer to check over your computer system as they have been "contacted" by microsoft due to high levels of virus threats.  Don't let them in... don't go to the web site they give you.  If you have a Linux computer or a system running ChromeOS, you should not have any problems.  If you are running Microsoft or Mac systems, once the system completes a handshake with the remote access, they have total control over your computer.  They will show you logs your computer makes to prove to you there are problems.  They have applications which they can run remote to create the issues in the logs (it's not at all hard to do if you know what you are doing).

Scam "PC Tech Support" company, they have you check you Windows event log (which, btw, always has errors), show you the errors, and had me go (on a virtual PC, I didnt fall for the this) to ammyy.com, a russian site that does remote PC.  They remote in, then go to support.me, which is logmein123, a legit company.  The double through both of those to make it harder for logmein to see who the are.  They try to sell you a $179 PC clean up, which doesn't check the 'credit card' at all, as they likely just use this to make fraud purchases.

After I went along with this for some time, I finally fessed up that they'd been had the whole time, and the 'supervisor' said "If I really wanted to scam you, I have your credit card information right here".  Ha! I told him good luck with that, as outside of the fact they called a VOIP number, there wasn't an honest thing from EITHER side of the call.  I filed reports with logmein after getting them to connect directly, so hopefully it gets looked into!

Caller id says they called 9/9 at 5:09 pm. Only ID is "North Carolina". Funny thing.. I do not believe there would be any telephone exchange of "001"... they never begin with Zero.
