We have been receiving this call from this number also for about a month looking for my daughter and saying they had legal documents. They gave me an 800 number for my daughter to call. This is a bill collector and this is a new tactic they are using now. I want to file a lawsuit against them for harassment and am going to monitor this site for comments and possibly a class action. I threw the number away, so if they call you again, please get a toll free number so I can find out the name of the company to start the suit. I even called them and said my daughter was not at my residence and asked them how they got my phone number and they told me they use a skip trace program and anyone that has, is or was affiliated with the person receives phone calls. i just got a call from this number and she spoke so softly till i could not hear her. She stated that she had some legal documents for me that will be delivered on 3-26-13 between the hours of 9am and 6pm. I had asked her what were the documents and/or who they were from and she said that they were sealed and that she could not open them, but in the background i had heard a lot of people talking and she did have some sort of accent. now where im from if vthere is any "legal" documents to be delivered, law enforcement delivers them and there is no set time for them to be delivered plus they would not call you to give you heads up. she did offer me the number but i said no because then they would get my number for even more scams to call me. even though they already have it, no need to add fuel to the fire.

This is a group of the most careless and messy bill collectors that I have ever known. They actually called me on my cell. Which was stupid on so many levels. You see, I work for one of the biggest, and most successful credit collection agencies in the U.S. and I also work in the legal department to make sure all of the federal and state laws are adhered to. I can tell you that the tactics that they use are against Federal Law. They called me on Thursday explaining that they had legal documentation for me. So I pushed the issue to try and find out what and from who. This is not unusual for me because of my job. They gave me a toll free number to call. I was a little confused and called immediately. They did tell me that it was because of a payday loan taken out and that they were going to take me to court if I did not pay them. I stopped them there and let them know of my occupation. I then told them that what they were saying was not only impossible but illegal. I explained that because of my job, I had to keep a high credit rating. I also told them that according to federal law, they cannot threaten anyone with any type of court action for unpaid bills. I went on to explain to them that payday loans were illegal in the state that I lived in and if they operated one in the state then they were breaking state law. Then I told them, they could not file papers in this state for illegal activities. At that time, they put me on hold and a manager came to the phone. The most incompetent "manager" I ever heard of in this business. He told me that he had the legal right to try to collect on a bill. I told him, he had a right, but his tactics were far from being legal. I let him know that we fire people on the spot for using his "so called" tactics. As far as the poster saying that they wanted to wait for class action. You do not have to. By law, the caller was only allowed to leave a name, company name and number to call you back. Everything else is illegal and you can file suit immediately.
