I have gotten a call from this number for the last two days stating ""This is a serious matter and we need to talk to you or your legal advisors today. You can contact us at this number or stay on the line to resolve this matter today". I wait on the line. It will ring and then it hangs up. I try calling back and can't get through. If it's a very serious matter I want to talk with some one to get it resolved, but it makes me think someone playing games.
They are calling me too with a claim I took out a payday loan in 2009 and they are demanding immediate payment. I have never taken out a loan of that nature. They want my social to "verify who I am", and when I refuse they state they won't remove my work numbers, including a cell number not even registered in my name for work, saying they don't have to. They call 4 and 5 times per day and today they demanded my office staff to have me contact them immediately or they would send police to my job. I have asked repeatedly for information on this account so I can file a police report under Identity Theft and they refuse. They keep saying they are summoning me to court in "2 weeks". Well it has been two months and no summons, but they keep calling 4 and 5 times per day back to back to my work cell (again, it isn't even listed in my name). I pulled all 3 credit reports and low and behold, no such account is listed in collections and no hits to my credit showing where a loan company pulled my credit. Nor is there a listing for the address they have for me. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General as of today with their latest harassment tactics.
The next time they call, let them know they are calling on a recorded line and you intend to have them prosecuted for, (among other things), attempted extortion and wire fraud.
