I received an automated phone call from Puyallup, Wa. Claiming to be the IRS and that I was a party in a lawsuit being filed by the IRS and need to call 1-253 200- 5889 to receive info on the status of the case. Beware There is an IRS office in Puyallop so it looked possible Refered it my and lawyer and he said iRS does not make calls to you . They would send letter to contact you. It is a scam
Automated voice claiming to be IRS called me twice today. I had 24 hours to return call or police would be involved. Really? I don't think the IRS would call me on my cell phone when I file jointly with my husband & he is listed first on all tax forms. Also, no written notice provided & IRS loves their paperwork. Nice try, but I'm blocking the number instead of returning call.
