Received a phone call around 2:30 a.m. (on my unlisted home phone) and was concerned there was a family/friend emergency as number seemed familiar. Later realized it was the same phone number as received the day before from someone with a heavy India accent claiming to be an officer (and his name is Nick O'Brien - insult to the Irish) from Washington D.C. and that the IRS gave him our telephone number; later claimed he was from the IRD and that there was a miscalculation with our W-2. I requested his supervisor as I could not understand him; put me on hold and came back only to claim his supervisor was unavailable (why was I not surprised?). Upon request for the supervisor's telephone number he claimed I already had the number (actually was his phone number). Confirmed he and his supervisor has the same phone number (duh!!!). Not normal business practice. Note: The phone message at 2:30 in the morning claimed it was an emergency.
