"Joey" approached me on the street, offered to "Fix my car to my satisfaction or he would not charge anything." Later he insisted I needed to pay him so he "Could get the parts necessary to finish the job." He had only spent about 15 minutes on the car so far. I asked several times for a business card, offered to meet him at his business for it, etc. He kept making excuses. By now, he intimidated me, claiming I "owed me", etc. I withdrew $300 from an ATM, plus $3 fee (which he had said he would pay!) -- and paid him.
He was wearing a DENTPRO workshirt, and told me repeatedly that he was bonded, insured, etc. He badgered me until I finally paid him, actually $40 more than originally agreed to. He left me the 253-204--131 number, which I have called repeatedly, always intercepted by a voice message. I figured he was scamming me, but based on his "sincerity" I followed thru on the deal.
