This unidentified caller places calls frequently to my number and hangs up whether I answer or not, as though he works for a company that gives him credit for the number of calls he logs as attempts. This is the only reason I can guess. I think some kind of official action is needed to curtain this abuse which inconveniences a significant number of people.
This is a scam ! They want to sell you some "pain" relief products that supposedly are covered by insurance BUT if your insurance does not pay - then YOU are on the hook to pay. I have a National Do Not Call phone BUT they violate that and call 3 or 4 times a day - the same person calls but uses a different name each time. I ask for the name of the company but they will not give it - I ask to speak to the "Manager" and the person says that "He" is the manager, I ask for the Owner, and the person calling says that "He" is the Owner - Even though the phone number is routed through Kent every person that calls has an "Indian" accent.
I recommend taking one of the following options:
a) blocking this phone number if your phone service allows this
b) not accepting these calls if you have caller ID
c) answer the phone and ask them to "hold" then come back in a couple of minutes and hang up
d) contact the police IF you think they are harassing you on purpose
These people keep calling me. I don't answer or I answer and hang up. the last time I answered I told the woman to take my number of their calling list and stop calling me. She was mad because I wouldn't verify information - my name, phone number or anything. She said she would still call back, and she did.
