Scam. Recorded message pretending to be the Internal Revenue Service. They offered the option to press '1' to speak to a representative so I did but the call disconnected before I got to speak with any one. Bummer. I was looking forward to laughing at them directly.
Cute touch: The phone number they're spoofing in their Caller ID is "Federal Way, WA". And, yes, there really is a town called Federal Way in Washington state. So by spoofing a number from that area they get a more realistic looking place name to appear in the CNAM field of the Caller ID.
Caller: Crook pretending to be the IRS
Call Type: Scam
I too got a call tonight saying the IRA is suing me and to call back at number 253-235-4211. The tone of the caller is very authoritative and intimidating. If I was really being sued, paperwork would have preceded this ridiculous phone message. The phone number is listed as coming from Federal Way, WA.
As above, "I too got a call tonight saying the IRA is suing me and to call back at number 253-235-4211. The tone of the caller is very authoritative and intimidating."
