I can save calls in my Uniden cordless phone handset at home. I save ALL of the scam, telemarketing numbers and edit the names to "ZZZ" and assign No Ring to them. If you assign "ZZZ" to them, then you won't be scrolling through all of them when you want to scroll through your legit numbers in your phone book. They'll all be at the very end. They can call all they want but it doesn't ring. If I'm on the phone with call waiting and see the "ZZZ" on the screen, I know it's one of them.
Got this call today. We have found that these robo-calls are voice-activated. If you do not say anything at all, then it doesn't activate their mechanism to play the message. So, when we answer the phone but don't recognize the caller ID name or number, we just stay silent for a while, then hang up.
This senior citizen uses Phone Tray to block ALL area codes and then unblock the numbers that I want to get through.
All calls are logged so I can check out the numbers that get "ZAPPED" to see if they may be important.
After one year I am down to 2 to 3 "scam" calls per day instead of 10 to 12 calls.
Silence IS golden.
We just received a call from 253-236-2374 Kent, WA. We did not answer & they did not leave a message on the answering machine. We are also on the DNC list and we still get these calls. Whats up with that?
2532362374 called no voice after 10 seconds. Hung up. These calls keep targeting senior citizens. The age of family members should not be available to these types of robocalls or other telemarketers. If we want something, we'll look at reviews and consumer lab testing before we buy anything from businesses we know well. The calls come each day at this time, round 7 PM or within an hour before.
