I answered. Dead air. Nothing on other side. I bet it was a spoofed number with a call center person who would've said that I had won some kind of American Airlines ticket or some other scam, but the call center guy was busy when it was time to come on the line.
I answered. There was a brief pause and then a woman came on the line apologizing because she was "having a problem with my husband." She identified herself as Emily, said she got my number because I had recently stayed at a resort hotel (both falsehoods) and launched into a fast paced announcement that I had won an amazing holiday getaway which she proceeded to describe. It went on and on; there was no stopping or interrupting so I hung up.
