From what I read on another site this is a call center trying to sell subscriptions to The News Tribune (Tacoma WA).
I had a subscription for over 32 years but from May 2005 to March 1st this year they increased the prices 205%. For me that was $11.50/mth to $35.07/mth. I told them last October when they raised the price another 15% in 5 months (they had a 15.4% increase in May) that I was considering cancelling and if they raised the price again I would. Well, they raised the price as of March 1 (5 months again) another 17.3%! I immediately called and cancelled my subscription.
I have gotten a dozen calls since from this number and another (also blocked) trying to sell me a subscription!!!
If you tell them to stop calling you or to remove your number from their list, they must do so. If they keep calling EVERY call could get them fined $1500 - that's every call, not just the ones you answered. So if they called another 10 times, that's $15,000, 20 times it's $30,000...and that's for everyone they're calling illegally - that could be 100s of calls per day.
If you get a call from this call center and want a subscription, fine - order it, but for everyone else I suggest you tell them to stop calling - you only have to tell them ONCE. Even if you had a business relationship with them before (ie., a subscription 2 years ago), they must have your written approval to call you now. After the first time you tell them to stop calling, track every subsequent call and file complaints. When they get fined maybe they will start doing business legally.
