I got a call from a 'home security company' asking to if they could provide me with a free security system in return for putting their sign in the yard. Automated system.
Received this call on my iPhone moments ago. I hit decline instead of my usual let it ring approach to these junk numbers. Apparently it's automated, so only a portion of the call was on my voicemail. All I heard was "Weber" and Press 1 to be put on their Do Not Call List.
No thanks. I'm going to assume that pressing 1 is similar to the email spam that asks you to click the link to remove you. All it does is verify that you're a live fish on the hook. I doubt this company will remove me from any list. In fact, I'd bet that the call frequency would actually increase.
My iPhone identified this call as coming from Tacoma, Washington. There must be a telemarketer boom in the Pacific Northwest these days.
