Card Services calling to reduce credit card interest rate and steal your identity in the process. SCAM. I block most numbers but these scumbags keep generating new fake numbers and wake me up each time.
Lately Ive been answering and trying to remain polite. I say something like "Please dont hang up on me. I know youre just doing your job but you guys have been calling me for a couple years now. I have no credit card debt and Im never going to provide any information to you. How do I get removed from the list?"
I've tried this three times now. The first person told me she'd add me to a "do not call list" but I had a feeling it was a lie and she was just saying this to appear empathetic, I thanked her and we hung up. Sure enough I got called again, the next person I tried this on simply hung up on me right away. The third person said "Im sorry, but there's really no way I can remove you. It's a robocall and all you can do is just hang up on it.", so I replied "yeah Ive been doing that for years though, how can I make it stop" and he replies "Im sorry but you cant. There's really nothing you can do". So I asked "do you know anything about the company?" and he said "there's a dozen companies doing this same model, there's nothing you can do to make it stop except change your number. Im sorry" and he hung up.
Remember everyone, this is a scam. Do not provide any information. They will charge your cards a 3-4 digit fee and claim to have attempted to reduce your credit card interest rates but they will do little to nothing in that effort.
