My caller ID says it is "US Government." No department.... no area code either! I'm sure it's a scam. My past experience with government requests have all started with a certified letter that identifies a case number, the cause for the contact, and several phone numbers to contact them. And if I don't respond, I get additional mail. This number called one time— one! Certainly not the government of the US!
Called at 5:40 PM Caller ID shows US Government. I answered, and a gentleman announces "Hi, I am xxxxx with the green energy group. I said what is the green energy group and he hung up. Must be a scam, as I called the number back and get a telephone company recording that says that the call can not go through. This is a local number for me and I do not know of much US Government in this area and they typically would not be working after 4PM.
