Country Air/Country Aire Technologies apparently uses a two-pronged approach to generate potential sales of their air filtration equipment.
I initially received a call from 425-609-1919 at 8:05 PM on 11/24/2012. Since I live in the Seattle-Tacoma suburbs, I thought this could be a legit call coming from the eastside (Bellevue, etc). A youngish (20's?) male identified himself, asked for a member of my family (and specifically cited our last name). The caller explained that they were conducting an air quality survey consisting of about 5-6 questions (that were truthfully pretty benign). What threw me was at the end of the survey, the caller mentioned something about being entered in a drawing. I somehow had mistakenly believed the call was an third-party agent calling on behalf of a local municpality. Had I known it was a sales tactic, I would have ended the conversation much sooner. Since the call took only a couple of minutes of my time I initially wasn't too bothered, and I didn't provide any info other than my first name (since he had my last name already).
I thought nothing more of that call until earlier today (11/27/2012), when I answered a separate call from "Country Air" @ 253-503-1484. An EXTREMELY chipper, sickeningly saccharine young woman expressly asked to speak with me, and stated that she was calling because I had answered a survey a few days ago about air quality; I had now been selected to receive a "prize" or a "gift" from a drawing. I told the young woman I was most certainly not interested - that I participated in the survey primarily to humor the other caller three nights ago, and did not appreciate being contacted by this firm, "Country Air", as I had not been informed that they were the perpetrators of this "survey" during the initial call three nights ago. She apologized and yet I had to forcefully blurt out a demand to be removed from the calling list at the very end of the call (sort of like the scene out of "A Christmas Story", when Ralphie has already headed down the Dept. store slide after seeing the store Santa Claus, and blurts out his request for a Red Ryder BB gun).
It seemed as though she was attempting to create an opportunity for them (Country Air) to call back at some future date. Hopefully they won't, but my memory assures me that they have called in the past few years, making unwanted solicitations (even without the preceding "air quality survey" call to get their foot in the door). Directly related to this most recent contact, in reviewing my Caller ID, I note that Country Air @ 253-503-1484 made two attempts to make their pitch on 11/26/2012, in addition to the call this morning on 11/27.
I live in Port Orhcard. I just logged a FCC complaint against them. I had numerous calls. The few times someone actually talks, I tell them I am on the National Do Not Call List and don't call me.
If you get calls from them, please file at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
If enough people complain, the FCC will start a case against them.
I have recieved at times several phone calls a day for the past several months. Thank god for caller ID. I'm on the do not call list but this company does not recogonize people's privacy. I too have reported them to the F.C.C. and encourage all of you to do the same.
After a little research I got their direct line. (253) 472-8300. Again I encourage you to call and express yourselves. These calls have been relentless and annoying please speak up.
