I've been getting these calls for months - on both my home phone and cell phone. I finally answered one robocall positively until I reached a real person. These companies are marketing companies selling all kinds of things from all different phone numbers. You apparently have to speak with the person from the company, specifically ask them to put your number on their do not call list, then wait 30 days before it becomes officially illegal for them to call you and for you to be able to report that call to the Do Not Call Registry with the FTC. It seems almost pointless to go to all the trouble to wait to speak with a pushy sales person at EACH phone number from EACH marketing company that calls you since it is a computer that calls. You aren't really annoying anyone because you don't reach a real person for a long time, and so these companies can still call and break the law. Who's going to catch them.? So I decided to either just answer and disconnect as soon as I see one of their numbers OR wait to speak to a person and then blow a very shrill whistle in that person's ear. I'll do that if the mood strikes.
Over the phone home security sales. They made it sound pretty legit until they asked for my social. I refused that one and then they asked for a credit card number. Unfortunately for them I don't give either over the phone. Now it makes me wonder if they have my home address and they were just trying to find out if I even have a home security system. Freakin' weasels.

I keep getting an automated inquiry call that after I say hello, the same voice, but live this time says "Hi, I'm Bob" or "Hi, I'm Tom, from Home Security" The ongoing number of calls I've received from this one telemarketer or scammer is relentless. It's getting to be like an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
The good new is that all the calls come from area code 253. But the number of lines they have access to are many. So, as I know nobody in area code 253, I try to either say nothing and hang up, ignore the call, or sometimes I just lay the phone next to the radio and close it after I get the "hung up" beep.
